About Us

Asendle means of the wild in Xhosa. An appropriate name for a website dedicated to improving understanding of so called ‘problem’ animals, highlighting the disappearance of others and reminding you, the audience, of their fragile existence.

Asendletrust.org is committed to raising funds for small, forgotten and misunderstood animals in Southern Africa.

Asendletrust.org primarily supports primate projects, but includes other animals facing danger due to human encroachment and persecution.

The online funding functionality, supported by Paypal software, makes it easy and safe to donate to your preferred project. Alternatively you can donate to the general Asendletrust.org fund and the funds will be distributed equally among the projects listed. Should you feel uncomfortable pledging online you should contact us and we’ll put you directly in touch with the organization.

Projects are evaluated prior to uploading, with regular feedback based on benchmarked criteria (see criteria for more information). While credentials are important for purposes of accountability, instances where ‘a desperate cry for help’ comes through, will be included in the line-up.

We are committed to bringing you insightful content and linking you to like-minded websites to enhance your online experience.

Visitors are encouraged to participate in our online research into the habits of lesser known animals such as aardvarks, chameleons, bats and fireflies by logging their sightings (and photographs where available) into our databank.
This information will be archived.

We look forward to interacting with you, so please send us your contributions and your comments for uploading. Direct us towards any injustices you become aware of.

It is our great pleasure to bring Asendletrust.org to you.
